Campaign finance reform: It's up to the voters now
Nothing 50 percent turnover can't resolve? So, we all know that the Supreme Court shot down campaign financing reform laws. So what?
Were such laws really going to make a difference, or just provide the appearance of change? Somehow I doubt we'd have seen any real increase in turnover - change - in our political system.
Besides, if incumbency were knocked down to 50 percent, wouldn't it be that much harder for those funding campaigns to protect their investments? Wouldn't a few years of unpredictable results send a strong message to both politicians and to their financial supporters, and help take some of the stink out of our political machines?
Isn't it time to vote out the incumbents?
